Day 1: Arrival in Cologne and Boarding Today you’ll travel on your own or, if you prefer, by bus (optional service) to Cologne, where you’ll settle into your houseboat starting around 4:00 p.m. In the city of the cathedral, you’ll have the chance to explore Cologne’s charming Christmas market on your own. The festively decorated stalls and cozy atmosphere will immediately transport you into the spirit of Advent. In the evening, a delicious 4-course welcome dinner awaits you before your ship sets sail around 11:00 PM. Day 2: The charming wine town of Rüdesheim am Rhein In the morning, you’ll enjoy the journey through the picturesque Upper Middle Rhine Valley, passing by impressive rock formations and majestic castles. Around 2:00 p.m., you’ll dock in Rüdesheim, where the ship will remain overnight. Explore this popular wine-growing town and don’t miss a stroll down the famous Drosselgasse street, as well as the charming Christmas Market of the Nations. Day 3: Mainz, the City of Gutenberg Around 8:30 a.m., we’ll weigh anchor and continue our journey to Mainz. Around 11:30 a.m., we’ll arrive in Gutenberg, on the banks of the Rhine. If you’d like, you can join us for a guided tour of the city, which begins with the Gutenberg-Express, a little red train, and continues on foot through the historic alleys of the old town, as well as the famous market square with the imposing Mainz Cathedral. During Advent, Mainz’s Christmas market shines with a very special splendor starting around November 27 and exudes a festive atmosphere. Around 8:30 p.m., your floating hotel sets sail again, heading for Cologne. Day 4: Return Journey After a delicious breakfast on board, you will disembark and begin your return journey on your own or, if you prefer, by bus (bookable). The wonderful memories of your evocative river cruise will undoubtedly remain with you for a long time. The order of the program is subject to change. The passenger cabins are distributed between two decks: Promenade and Main. They are spacious rooms of about 12m2 that have two beds that convert into a sofa during the day to create extra space (Main deck). The cabins have a large desk with a chair and a large mirror. All cabins are equipped with air conditioning/heating that can be regulated individually, satellite TV with several channels with a remote control, safe, telephone and hairdryer. An elegant bathroom is equipped with a shower and a sink. The cabins on the Main deck have panoramic windows, while the cabins on the Promenade deck have a French balcony.
